Phoenician castles, Roman temples and structures, the tower of Musiqa, Nawawis, tombs of kings, and palaces of princes of history, all in the heart of the strong. Despite all this, the strong is not just land or history, but relations between its people and this land and history.
One of these relationships is the relationship of the strong people with their archaeological sites. Professor Roger Sarouf, who has an intimate relationship with his family in the solid and the field, had a dream that the palace would have the palace of my past up to the present and he also had a bet that this palace would not only be a heritage but a pioneering cultural palace. He has achieved his dream, and he furnished and furnished a palace exclusively for the multitudes, and established within him an auditorium with a high technical level.
Today he will make his bet and will be at the Municipal Palace Museum of Art. This cultural bet is a joint effort that would not have been possible without the will and will of the president and members of the municipal council, and not for the efforts of the cultural committee and a group of intellectuals from outside the municipal council. One of them had a dream too, a dream he had enjoyed for decades when he was head of the arts department at the Ministry of Education and had sought through the Spring and Autumn exhibitions to form the Art Collection of the National Art Museum.
He was the founder of the Institute of Fine Arts, the art adviser to the first Minister of Culture, Michel Edde. He was the first to write the history of Lebanese art.
The Museum of Fine Arts is a great challenge not only in dreams and desires, not even in sacrifices and work. The great challenge of culture is to move from its creators to the people and to have a direct relationship with art. This will be achieved thanks to this group of artists who have joyfully and generously made the achievements of their art.
